Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification to recruit 340 Officers across Flying, Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical), and NCC Special Entry branches. Eligible candidates can apply online from 17 November 2025 to 14 December 2025. The AFCAT written exam will be held on 31 January 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Flying Branch

  • Graduation (minimum 60%) with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level OR
  • BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical)

  • BE/B.Tech degree in relevant Engineering disciplines.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

  • Graduation/Post Graduation in Administration, Accounts, Logistics, Education, or related streams.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (Born between 02 Jan 2003 and 01 Jan 2007)
  • For CPL Holders: Up to 26 years (Born between 02 Jan 2001 and 01 Jan 2007)
  • Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech): 20 to 26 years (Born between 02 Jan 2001 and 01 Jan 2007)

Application Fee

  • AFCAT Entry: ₹550 + GST (Non-refundable)
  • NCC Special Entry: No Fee

Selection Process

  1. Online AFCAT Written Exam
  2. AFSB Testing – includes:
    • Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test & Picture Perception Discussion
    • Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Interview
  3. CPSS Test (for Flying Branch only)
  4. Final Merit List based on Written & AFSB performance

Salary Structure

  • Flying Officer: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10)
  • MSP: ₹15,500 per month
  • Flight Cadets (Training): Stipend of ₹56,100 per month
  • Additional allowances: Flying Allowance, Technical Allowance, Risk & Hardship Allowance, etc.
